hi, wonder if someone can tell me if a 4.0 ltr autobox can be used to fix a 2.5 diesel box that has no drive ,ie can i change one for one possibly have to change bell housings i would think ? has anyone else done this ?

regards jim

The ZF4HP22 transmission is used on 2.5 litre Diesel and 4.0 litre petrol models.

The 4.6 litre petrol models use the ZF4HP24 transmission unit to accomodate the increased power output of the larger engine. Both units are of similar construction with the ZF4HP24 unit being slightly longer.

The operation of both units is the same.

So, in a Nutshell ... Yeah it "Should" fit ....WITHOUT having a Rawng out the Bell housin!!!

hi, sorry in advance for possibly being stupid but what does

WITHOUT having a Rawng out the Bell housin!!!

mean ?

YER DO NOT need to change the Bell housin or remove it ... the box is a straight screw up ...(But SODS LAW says that you should just check the Ident No's on each box first!!!!) ...They SHOULD BE IDENTICAL!!

ZF4HP22
