At least the problem occurs in a reproducible set of conditions. Not sure I have anything bright to add TBH - might there be a blockage in one of the fluid ways?
diagnostics clone tools, and Wúrth WOW ones as well, I was setting up one of them and having a play one with on my freelander, and I remembered that seemed to be able to interrogate the auto box as well.

It says it is Rover and Land Rover compatible, but then again it says it is also compatible with Samsung, who I don't believe manufacture motor vehicles? The picture of someone working under an early 1970s 1600 VW Beetle made me chuckle. I guess you could use the interface as a wheel choc?
