Evening all first time owner 2000 p38 2.5dse … decided as I know no history on this and it’s on 230k I would change gearbox filter and leaky oil cooler pipes and ran into two problems. The bolt that holds the oil pick up on the gearbox looks like it’s been rounded off and I’m needing ideas to get it out. Second one was a school boy error and I should of taken pics, but can anyone take any pics of how the auto box oil pipes sit in front of the radiator above the power steering pipes

I can take photo's later. Do ensure you follow the correct procedure when refilling the auto box, part fill the box, then engine cold cold and idling, move slowly through the gears, then continue filling until ATF drips out of the filler hole.

Yep had read about refilling gearbox, been trying to get oil filter ( g’box) but pick up bolt is screwed

If you got the pipes off the cooler end and theirs still threads on the cooler ,you have done well young grasshopper .... ;)

It's difficult to take photo's of the auto box oil cooler pipes, the metal sections from the box should be self expanatory as they mount to a bracket at the side of the engine. From the ends of the metal pipes, they pass low down just above the plastic sump shield to the centre bottom of the engine RAD where they change back to metal, see photo, the metal pipes then pass under the chassis to the oil cooler.

Hope that helps.
