Hi all,

Just had some work done to the engine where the gearbox was removed, or at least, moved back from the engine.

Just today shortly after driving off, the car revved a lot then went into the next gear with a thump and showed gearbox fault. I think it is in 3rd gear.

Diagnostics shows a message containing "stalling" and "voltage" so I immediately checked the battery - 14.1 to 14.2 V running and 12.8 engine off.

The workshop has it back and I'm hoping for a loose connection or similar, as I've never had any gearbox problems and keep the fluid and filter clean ...

Any tips most welcome before it gets expensive.

Cheers.

I think you are right, something has been disturbed, a connector perhaps or a wire trapped.
Engine temperature sensor for the ECU also causes gearbox problems.

No, it doesn't show any letters and also the sport switch does nothing.

The workshop are willing enough to look at it (as they should!), but they did mumble something about solenoids which I rebuffed as strongly as I could.

I'm sure you are right - just something disturbed .... isn't it? :)

OK, there is I think a cable that goes over the gearbox, there is also the connector on the side, it will be the cabling/connector or the like. If it doesn't communicate with the dash it can be nothing else.
Solenoids are nowt to do with it if it doesn't show the gears on the dash.
