I’ve got a strange fault with my D2 ES Premium auto.
I went green laning back between christmas and New Years and a couple of times I felt a kinda surging from the engine/box and a reluctance to change up a gear. It was almost like a limp mode and seemed to lack power but gentle throttle control and it would change up. it was only a couple of times and I drove the 70 miles back home after without incident mainly at 60-70mph.
The next day I gave the outside a wash (it needed it!) and also around the engine bay as there was a fair bit of muddy water sprayed around. I did this latter part with the engine running and all covers in place. I then went for a drive and the surging had returned. I pulled up and put it in park and there was no problem with the engine, revving freely and smoothly. As soon as I put it in gear/drive the problem returned. I parked it up for a couple of hours and when I drove home later that evening all was back to normal. At this point I linked it to the water/engine bay wash.
All has been fine until a couple of days ago driving to work and I had to drive through some standing water (only about 4-6”) and the problem returned straight away. Leaving work 12 hours later and no problem and fine since.
I’m still working on the theory of water ingress causing it and then resolving once dried but where? Any ideas? Has anyone else seen this fault before? There’s no faults recorded on nanocom and no dash lights.
