Auto box on me discovery 300tdi needs replacing.

Got new box ready for the swap but what else do i need to change while its off.

Might aswell fit new while its off so make sure ive got everything il need
 
All that will be done neway.what about filters and stuff inside the box.clutches torque converters kind of thing
 
Lost 2 3 and d the other week after a days laning.limped home in 1st.changed the oil in gearbox 3 times and still the same.so got new box.now am gettin ready fit it.juzt wanted no if out else need fitting or changing b4 it goes i

its worth changing filter ,and if oil residue is blackish dont fit it until youve checked first 2 clutch packs
 
Are the clutch packs in the gear box itself or qre they beuind the torque convertor
 
clutch packs are in the box itself ,clutch pack A and B the 2 that are mosty likely to be burned are directly behind pump housing which is directly behind bell housing, they are the only 2 clutch packs you can reach without removing valve block and gallery seals,
 
And the 2 you can reach are the likely suspects to be burnt i hope.how much are the clutch pack for auto off the top of ur head james
 
Is that 50 a pack or 50 for them all.im on the understanding there is alot in there
 
Anyone got a how to for checking the clutch packs in the box as i suspect mine has just gone as i dont have any forward gears, only reverse??

you could give me a ring and i can tell you how ,but oil wll be blackish ,clutch pack A is usual failing it can be reached by removing bell housing and then pump housing ,box is best stood with bell housing upright
 
That's cool have I got to remove the gear box to do the clutch pack and yes my oil has gone blackish since it gave up pulse it didn't give me much warning as I was fine then felt like it was jumping out of gear then had no drive at all
