Funny thing though out of the seven or eight sites i rang only two were willing to allow 4x4 laners on there site, as soon as i said a group of landrover drivers crossing the peaks most of them said no

have you thought of trying to hire a village hall for the evening. Lots of walking groups do it.

I dont mind wild camping anyway i think its better really, and while were on the subject of camping Decathlon have a sale on at the moment pop up tents £19.99. dont look to bad either

Decathlon - CAMPING-TREK,OUTDOOR PRODUCTS tents QUECHUA - 2 SECONDS I dark green QUECHUA - 1 person looking for a HIKING TENT that can be pitched instantly and is small in size for transportation.
only problem with them is they are to small, and i agree i prefer wild camping

another problem is its only waterproof in a light shower, i hope it ****es down, if you remember Tims was wet inside and it didnt rain on the Saturday night:eek:

Pikey you can get a 2 man dome tent from asda for under a tenner at the mo. think they are double skinned so as long as it doesnt **** down it should hold up ok. Have used a tesco tent a few times before (£4 in the sale ;) ) held up ok and didnt leak through constant showers.

MG if you can put me down as confirmed for camping on the sat night mate. Not sure about friday still not had confirmation of gate closers shifts yet so will more than likely meet you all on sat am.

i agree, whilst i was over at ladybower i did notice that if you did want to you could pitch up right on the banks of the dam, away from the main area.
