 About time too.........

Back in October 2005 I had a reasonably nice V8 RRC and a new girlfriend (now my wife).

I went out to Minstead in the New Forest and ended up like this.

10 minutes later the big ends went and after 12 months (yes 12 months!) in the local garage, it came out with a brand new 3.9 and sequential LPG. No matter what we tried it would not run right and it was broken and ebayed in 2007. :(:(

Fed up up waiting to get the RRC back, I purchased a very tidy rust free, ex Jap 300Tdi Discovery with only 48,000 miles on the clock. £4000 = Result!!

Over the years I've spent thousands! My plan is to write everything up on this one thread - watch this space. :D:D

Progress up to April 2007 saw the fitting of set of rocksliders (purchased for the RRC but never fitted), a snorkel, some clear indicators, a new head unit and some Scrap Iron racing stickers/One Life stickers. That early stage also saw the removal of the lower half of the bumper, number plate surround and roof rack.

More to follow. :D

When I broke the RRC, I got 4k for the bits but imprtantly I kept bits I'd paid over 3k for - knowing these would end up on the Disco.

The first of these to go on were the 235/85/16 BF Muds, freshly powder coated +2" springs/ +2" shocks, -2" Scrap Iron HD turrets, +2" extended bump stops, double carden front prop and wide angle rear prop, steering guard, and diff guards.

I picked up some modulars from eBay and powder coated them silver - even though they look white in the photos.

Nice disco looks far to clean lol did you have to change any of the wireing when you changed to TD5 lights

April 2008 - 5x Predator alloy wheels and BFG AT tyres in 265/70/17 plus a freshly powdercoated towbar and brand new ladder.

I'd originally purchased four of these wheels from Old Sodbury Sortout in 2006 with the plan to put them on the RRC when it was repaired. They were silver and very grubby. £100 later and they were powder coated in gloss black. Then I picked up an extra one in gloss black for £40. :D

In April 2008, as a teacher, I was lucky enough to be awarded UPS3 - more money = 5 BFG ATs for £600.

The only catch with black wheels was the silver graphics didn't look right, hence the change to black.

There's an interior roller blind hiding in there too. Now in the garage waiting to be ebayed - hint, hint.

October 2008

Window tints - £6 off ebay. Had the boot ones redone a few years ago and the original rear door windows are faded to buggery.
