Just as an update, there have been a few local burglaries and the thinking is that they got my Landy ready and started so that they could load it with booty, yeah I know that an 88" S3 is that spacious but we are talking about scroats who might well be able to break into a 32 year old car but are perhaps not that able to gauge spacial needs!

Either that or they got 'disturbed'

A good idea is to have more than one isolator like what has been put on my Series 3. You could have one for the solinoid/ fuel pump on the dash to turn off the fuel system and then have another battery isolator in an obscure place (e.g.behind the middle seat/ in a cubby box) where a would be thief would not think of looking.
