Pain in the neck!! Literally........
Took her in today for further investigation / repair. Hopefully they will repair and not write-off :(
Now I have to drive around in a brand new VW Passat TDI. Yuk.

Its fanstastc... 2 cars decided to see just how hard the rear of a Disco is and ran into the back of the TDI a few years back, the first a Peugeot was written off, we got the rear bumper done on insurance their because the crush plates had given, unnoticable though. The second a Corsa, it was a gonner, again just crush plates and a cracked light lens. Got a new bumper, 2 new lenes and a whole rear end respray at a good body shop...

nice one.
if they pay for a new tyre cover, give us the old one mate.
:)
I had only just fitted that a couple of weeks ago. Found it at a car boot for £4. Now it has a huge rip in it. Bet they can't find one like that to replace it with.

Oh well, good news, it's being repaired. Plus points are that I'm getting a new spare tyre and a complete tailgate as the old one was twisted. A bit of a result as the tailgate was the only bit of the car with bad corrosion :)

He-he, one reason why I luv my landy. Twice people have thought it a good idea to reshape my back end both came off without front lights, grill and in one case bonnet too. All I suffered was a scratched bumper the first time (didn't even involve insurance) and a broken lense, tow bar electrics and bent step the other. Admittedly the second time the driver tried seriously carving me up and failed and when I came across traffic lights that changed to red I had to brake a bit hard to stop in time.

Unfortunately Mr Angry never. His fault I was stationery at a red light at the time. I cant understand to this day why he seemed even angrier outside the car. Got it all fixed by his insurance and my ncd remained untouched.

Hope it doesn't happen again though as the inconvenience isn't really worth it but it was fun.

Moral of the story; make sure you have a tow bar fitted.

And make sure that the offending vehicle actually hits it rather than going to one side of it as they did with mine!
