So after changing the diaphragm valve last week on the Green P38, is now making a strange squeak after it dumps air out the EAS exhaust !! It's easy to hear becasue my EAS has had the silencer removed for years (mainly becasue it makes pedestrians jump), and I can hear how often the pump switches on & off.

I get two distinct noises:

1) 1-2 second squeak similar to a pulley bearing when the pump stops & the gallery gets vented.
2) Asthmatic wheezing when the block is doing its tickety-tick and adjusting up & down.

This is new one on me. Never heard it before on any of the valve blocks I've refurbished !!

Sound like a dodgy diaphragm valve to me.

I've only ever done one vb, mine.
But an o ring not seated can make some weird noises. From memory, and you'll know this for sure, the diaphragm end is easy to take off and recheck. And the spring, I'm sure, you did refit.

I had very similar with mine, it was the diaprahm valve which had corroded to nothing.. :)
