Bought a galvanised chassis from Ashtree Landrovers for my 110 Defender purely on recomendations and I have to say what a pile of S*%T. The finish is absolutely terrible just about everywhere. The patched footwells were very badly welded and it was visible every repair to it. I paid £800 including delivery. I would have sent it back but I was in the middle of my rebuild so I just had to hope that my painter could do something about it. Has anyone else experienced this sort of service from them?

Think he means bulkhead.

I bought one of their galv bulkheads last year. I ordered it pre sprayed in Bonatti Grey but it looked perfectly good in my eyes. Pehaps the paint was hiding something though?

I got good service from them, but I realise they use second hand battered bulkheads which they repair, and they they offered me £75 for my old one.

But they are very expensive arent they:eek:

When i was retoring my 90 i saw them at Bealieu, the quality of the bulkhead they were showing was poor, I know they are secondhand then repaired and then galvanised but it looked rough, so I bought a secondhand TD5 one and resprayed that one.

well that solves that then for me - i can make a mess of my own repairs instead of paying for someone elses mess :D - two door frames and brackets = 100 quid + 20 for top corners , 20 for some sheet steel and about 40 quid in grinding disks/weldingwire/gas

i didnt want showroom condition anyway - but if i was paying 800 note i would !
