Hi there! Are there any good ideas of things to replace the ashtray on the crash pad in a Defender with something useful (for a non-smoker)?

Are there any accessories made to fit this space?

I keep a spare immobiliser fob battery in it ever since mine went flat in the middle of nowhere and I could not start the engine.

Our works TD5s have a blank recess instead. not seen any for sale for replacement in earlier defenders. shame, wouldn't mind one!

These things are bloody pointless..........I can tell when I'm upsidedown cause of all the tools and sweet wrappers around me head :doh:

Works fine for washers and fuses, or you can buy a bracket to attach extra gauges - volts, turbo and the like

I used to put a speaker to the Cb in it. The mobile phone hand free speakers fit pretty well into the hole

Lots of ideas! Thanks guys.

It however do seem like noone is supplying a "plug-in" stuff using the recess from the ashtray... hmm...
