I’m about to remove my lt230 Transfer box and send to Ashcroft for rebuild just wondering if any one has done the same and can comment on the job/service they received

Can do it it my self but just don’t have the time and price seems reasonable

any info much appreciated

I'd have suggested Winchester Gears but they have a few weeks lead time at the moment.

I've had a LT77 box from them and service was great. I've also bought rebuild kits etc from them. They seem good to me

There service is good in that they honour the warrantee. I have had my gearbox rebuilt a couple of times and my transfer box once by them. I cannot comment on the workmanship as I cannot rebuild gearboxes myself so do not know if the problem I encountered were due to poor workmanship, but the service and no hassle returns for rectification was very good.
The transfer box clicked when taking up drive which could be felt through the gear lever, quick phone call and they seemed to know exactly what the problem was, courier collected on the Monday and I had a fully working box returned to me on Friday. Annoying as I had to remove and refit again, but cannot fault the warrantee service.
Also had a gearbox rebuild from them fail (spectacular, they returned me the broken gear set, will try and find a pic) after about 6months, again no issue with retuning to them and sending back a working unit again.
I do not know if I have just been unlucky or if they failure show poor workmanship but the company communication, and service on an issue is great.

I had a refurbed LT230 off them a couple of years ago.
Works a treat, much quieter than the original, excellent service including phone and email Q&A, prompt delivery of the new one and collection of the old unit.

had an LT230 and LT77S from them 90000 miles ago and no problems, very happy with their work
