Has anyone on here done the Ashcroft conversion to high ratio transfer box, if so were there any problems? I've heard its a good conversion to do to improve normal driveability day to day, so I'm thinking about it. Are any special tools needed?
Thanks in anticipation

Yes. No problems or special tools but you do need their modified transfer casing which comes as part of the exchange. The case has some machining performed on it (not sure where)

apparently works better with bigger engines, the series diesel 2.0L and 2.285L may struggle with it

there are some peeps on here that have it

I have done it. It is an easy job, and is an excellent piece of kit.

But as they say^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^, you rally need a bit more power than a 2 1/4 diesel to make use of the extra gearing, except on downhill. It is great with Ford V6 or Perkins 4/236.very strong, these powerful conversions can break a Fairey overdrive.

Might be good in a petrol, especially tuned a bit, or upgraded to 2.5
