Gonna buy an ashcroft air locker tomorrow from Paddocks to treat myself for my birthday today.

Looking on the website it says the drill bit from ashcroft is 29/64 which is around 11.5mm so I'll buy an 11.5mm drill bit and then the tap I've read is 1/4 bsp however that tap is smaller than 11mm isn't it?

Don't forget that the BSP size refers to the inside diameter of the pipe, so they're a lot bigger so as to allow for the wall thickness of those old iron gas and water pipes. So a 1/4" BSP would be around 1/2" in practice. So an 11 point something drill is probably about right.

Cheers guys. Ordered a thread and plug set of taps and brought the locker today with a tyre air set so I just need to find time to fit it all Into the rear, move the arb to the front and at some point I'd like to make a receiver for the compressor so it's got a tank that's a little bigger for airing up tyres. Might use a small fire extinguisher.

I'd avoid using an old, fire extinguisher due to needed a fill, return and drain on a tank.

These are cheap enough to pick up these days (£30+depending on size)
