So, being a non-smoker I thought the ashtray would be an ideal place to put loose change for carparks etc. Unfortunately I seem to have put rather too much loose change in there and it's now jammed. Anybody know any neat way of getting it opened?

The change is probably stopping the spring from moving, bang it to dislodge the coins and force it open.

i did this too. If banging it doesn't work, the front bit with the cigarette logo unclips, then you have to try and wedge a screw driver in the side. It is possible to get it out with only a little damage to the internal side of the ashtray.

good luck

I messed around with mine once, there is a plastic tang on the side of it that is what holds it in, and I snapped it so it would never close. Careful!

Try putting some lubricant after fixing it. Mine was about to jam but after putting some lubricant it works well till today.Freelander plastics s...ks.
