What modifications have you made to your series suspension?

How much articualtion can you get?

Image 1 and 2 below are with standard leaves.

Image 3 is with Parabolic Springs, extended rear shackles and longer shock absorbers. Not such a great picture but it has made loads of improvement.

What springs and shocks did you buy and are you finding any benefitt off road?

How are your props holding up?

Cant remember what the springs were, they were not Britpart thats all I know.

The shocks are Pro Comp +2"

It has made a hell of a improvement, both on road and off road.

Off road, the wheels actually stay on the ground so you have way more grip and your not bouncing about every where.

I have new props front and rear, they are fine, no problems yet...

On road, its not as stable as it was, however you dont feel the bumps as much any more.

Do you have +2" shackles on the front?

Does this not point the pinion down to much, and the front prop foul the x-member?

I see you have a V8? Can we have a picture of this as well?

Is it EFI or Carbs? How do you find it? What G-Box is in there? Did you do it your self?

I've got the shackles on the front and when I had the standard axles on it did point the diff down a bit and did catch on the xmember a tiny bit offroad, but never caused any serious probs, just fit freewheeling hubs for when your on the road.
Here's a pic of the mighty V8

The engine is a 3.5L on carbs, gearbox is standard series 3, did have the original s2 in it but blew that to bits!, had a s3 kicking around so threw that in. Personally I think it's the best thing I ever did putting the V8 in,loads more power, lots of low down torque for offroad and better mpg than a 2 1/4,if I drive normal I get about 20 mpg. And yes I did fit it myself

here's a link to my YouTube channel if you want to hear the roar!

Do you have Defender axels on there now?

Im loving the bottle round the dizzy :)

Im looking at fitting an EFI V8, I know the wireing is going to be a chalange but hey...

Did you have to cut the bulkhead at all?

Did you have to move the engine mounts?

Did you have to move the RAD forward?

Did you use a conversion kit? If so who from?

Standard Springs with 1 Ton Shackles. Pointless having any more articulation for mine as the tyres hit the tub at it's maximum now.

The axles are disco 300tdi, discs all round

The bottle over the dizzy was a pain to fit...... Had to drink the cider first!

I cut the bulkhead 2" wider each side but you don't have to,you just can't get the heads off if you don't

I made my own engine mounts so I could lift the engine up so the filter cleared the axle

you don't have to move the rad if you fit a waterpump off a rover p6(shorter pump)

I used a conversion plate,I've had it for years just lying about but you should still be able to get one. You also have to make an exhaust cos a rangerover/disco or 90/110 V8 wont fit but can be made to fit if your handy with a welder

My next major project is rebuild gearbox and fit V8 to new chassis and then move the rest of the land rover accross...

I have the spare gearbox in bits and ready to rebuild.

I dont have a V8 yet as I am reaserching EFI vs Carbs.

I dont have a chassis yet as I have no where to store it...

The down side is this project is going on hold for 3 years whilst I complete my comercial pilot training. Starting on Feb 28th :):):)

However, when im back expect a new thread "Project V8"
