Hi, yet another question... one of two today...

I've got a set of ARP head studs from Real Steel. The set doesn't come with instructions (oddly), and I've seen a few different opinions on torque settings for these bolts. I was going to do the 180 degree thing, but because the thread is a fine pitch on the 'nut end', I reckon this will produce a much lower clamping force than 180deg with the original bolts.

So... any suggestions about what to do?

Forgot to say, P38 4.6 V8 2000.

Cheers.

i only use arp studs and torque them this way
20lbft
50lbft
80lbft
use the grease supplied for the threads and lube the washers too when fitting

Thanks Vougese39. Hoping to get to that tonight.

I've been asking ARP for that info since last Thursday and it's been like pulling teeth... It took less than 6hrs on this forum! :D

I did eventually manage to drag an answer out of ARP (it arrived 1/2 hour after Vougese's reply after several days of email tennis). The great news for anyone using this forum for reference is that ARP's answer was basically identical.

Cheers.
