Hi all, one month ago i bought a 99 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3, after looking
it over i see that it has edelbrock shocks, they seem to be very soft,
when i go slow over a speed bump or back into my drive way, the front
end will bounce a couple of times.
I have never had edelbrock shocks before so i don't know if this is the
way they work.
If they are bad, would i be better off with some Bilstiens, or Gabrial
monotubes.
My truck is stock height, and i like and smooth but firm ride

Your shocks are bad, Edlebrocks, IMHO, ride very nice and are also very
capable off road. Depends on how old they are. I would try another set,
Bilstiens are more suited to Mercs and the like, something that rides
nice but doesnt require a lot of performances. Gabriel monos?? you
would be better off leaving the blown shocks on it. If you are
ambitious, check out some ProComp ES9000 or Ranchos, price is probably
about the same if not less than the Edle, bilst, or others...
As always, this just my opinion. Good Luck!!

One test is to get each corner of the vehicle (one at a time eh)
bouncing up and down when stopped and let go fast. Good shocks will
stop the bounce within one to two bounces. If it bounces 3 times or
more, they fail.
