A fleet broker friend of mine put me onto a another broker, 60 quid less than last year and more than half the excess, no voluntary at all. Not cheap, but cheaper than the alternatives.

Got a renewal off them saying they are £100 lower this year…

Yes you would lower be as you have removed the drive any other vehicles fully comp option that I pay extra for.

Wait till I ring the idiots up again

And as for auto renew… hate this as I’m only home for 2days a week so if post is running late I would not see these letters.

They have been calling me, no thanks as yours were more than double the price of anyone else last time, & they didnt bother
trying to compete with the pricing so see yezzzz.

I wonder if they're passing on their hikes pro rata to 'hire' their patch on this here site ?

I used them for years on all my motors, now the prices are just stupid. I need to do a quote for the misses car I will
see what they come back with.

Quotes are very high for many Land Rovers right now whoever you insure with.
Particularly if you have a Range Rover

Found out the “flex drive option” where you can drive other motors has ceased.
Nope they can’t explain why.
Asked why again I’m been penalised for driving HGV as they deem I’m in the motortrade, also no response
Explained I have a Motobike policy & can ride any other bike so what’s the difference is it the lack of wheels that make a offence ?
Then they have the nerve to ask could we try to insure the bike…. Nope was my reply.

Well waiting for a return call… bet that don’t exist

If only a of 'Bank of Dave' type could step in, of course he'd need to be pretty well heeled if he's that short.

They've phoned me three times today. Insurance isn't due till beginning of next month and they'll probbably not get my money anyway, they can never touch my quotes, even with the "discount" applied.
They quoted me £6k on our discovery in London. We took out a policy with Landrover directly got £195 a month. Not cheap, but better

lnsurance is un fathomable sometimes.
l've got a 2022 Defender and worse than that it's the "Commercial" version which l use for my business.
We're with LV and last time it was £300. l knew that wasn't going to happen again though.

I was getting some scary renewal quotes in October and started looking at replacing it with another TD5 Defender.

However LV was happy to re-insure the Defender Commercial for under £700 including business use.

l never tried AF, they were always good with my old TD5
When l got the renewal quote form LV l just accepted it before they changed their minds lol

They've sent me a letter too, desperate. Tomorrow is is day for getting quotes, 21 days before renewal.
Nope,
21 Days out using comparison sites the market is alerted to the fact you are looking ( in the market) so the price will be the same at renewal quoted at that time.
When you come to renew, best to do day before as companies will try to gain market share, but be aware that most are fronts for the big 5 so keep that in mind as they dont want you shifting, so whilst your current provider mght be more expensive, others will will temp you with a deal ( actually the same parent company) to keep market share. So essentially you will get the best deal from the big 5 competing for market share.

the two main comparision sites prioritise 2 of the big five, so be sure to use both.

2003 TD5 90 £166 fully comp, agreed value, and able to drive any other vehicle.
2005 Mercedes SL 500 is now down to £242 fully comp.

£166 to insure a Defender TD5 is insane, l've never had a quote that cheap for any main vehicle l have owned in the past 40 years.

It must be on a "Classic" policy to get it that low. (not your primary vehicle, limited mileage)

l once had a Ferrari Mondial t which was insured on a Classic policy and cost under £200 with Agreed Value

occupation is important never put retired,! they figure you could be on the road all day 7 days a week greater risk.
