ayup again, would anyone happen to know if the removal of the arb's on a 1997 disco is an mot failure or not and also what's the articulation like with them on,having only ever had deependers i have no experience with disco's.

thank's

it shouldn't fail mot but the extra articulation you get is not worth the arse clenching moments you encounter when cornering at speed. Fit a set of good shox like pro-comp keep the arb and it will go pretty much everywhere. Myself and a few mates have been down this road and the shox make the difference.

if you are lifting it and keeping the arbs then you will more then likely have to space the bars down as the links have a habit of "flipping" when used off road and lifted.

nah not lifting it just wanted to know what the articulation's like in standard trim with the arb's fitted, while i'm thinking about it has anyone had a spring dislocate on standard setup?

I tried taking the arb's off my previous TDi 300 in preparation for a trip - I didn't notice a huge difference on-road or off-road to be honest.

On-road she was slightly smoother on rough roads but that's about it.
