Hello All.

A while ago i bought a set of ARB's for the 90. One came with a heavy duty air line and the other with a smashed non heavy duty line.

Anyway, what i want to know is. Has anyone else fitted them and is it much of a bother? i know the back one will be more of an issue.

Any recommendations on compressor other than the ARB one?

And how did you route the lines into the back/or front to the compressor?

Thanks alot

Route them along the brake lines with heavy duty zip ties

Evening John.

Or good afternoon. :)

I thought that but the brake lines dont enter the cab! I could put them through the hole in the battery box but that is filling up pretty quick.

so i think i understand a little more now. The lockers dont take alot of air to inflate, so most compressors will be ok. But to inflate a tyre will take a lot more air(obviously). And so ill need a bigger compressor for that.

Im not to fussed about blowing up tyres but it would be useful.

Alex blows his tyres up with his arb compressor, dont think its the highout put one either, does the job though!

put up a link for a arb compressor so we can compare

my brother put his compressor in the cubby box. an rutted his air lines from rear diff up an along A frame.(leave a little slack to allow for dislocation of rear axle) along the top of chassis an brought them up through the hole where the old seat belt for middle seat use to be drilled 2 small holes in the bottom of his cubby box. job done

and he has never broke an air line

also wait an buy a ARB compressor hes had his over 2 years an not a thing has ever gone wrong if you buy s**te you'll buy twice

have fun :D

Eaton corp has just started a E locker, Use elector magnets to engage the locker. they have tested on lots of heavey equipment/military vehicles. got them now for ford,gm,dodge now but don't know about Land rover.

I have the compact version compresser in my 90 has worked fine for nearly a year now only needs to run for about 5 secs to lock up both diffs

Cheers 90.

Have you got the 128's in yours? How long did they take to install? rear should be easy right? the front will be harder from what i can see as i have to take the swivels off to get to the half shafts?

As im a little new to this, do you just leave the compressor on and then press the front or rear switch when needed. The guy who bought them off said something about the compressor coming on sometimes when just driving down the road?

Any help you can throw my way would be great.

Cheers

Matt

Yep mine are 128s i did'nt fit mine, but there fairly simple to install just half halfs out 3rd member off then you need the crown wheel off your old diff to fit on the arb which can be a pain to swap over.

with the arb compresser for use you turn compressor swith on first then rear diff then front if you need it. you cant have the front diff in with our the rear. if the compressor is coming on when in use they could have an air leak

Compressor is off till you need to use the lockers. No point keeping it on when you dont need it...

Mine are built into diff's already :D I just need to get hold of a compressor and a length of air line and i should be good to go. The guy who i bought them off said they had been for a service at ashcrofts 100 miles ago. But guess i wont know if thats true until i try fitting them and using them. He also said the 128's are known to sometimes not seal when there first installed. Usually takes a couple of attempts when first installed or summit.

I thought it topped itself up every so often?
