When unlocking the approach lights on the L322 are only coming on briefly maybe about seconds before fading to off.

Anyone any ideas.

The approach lights are the ones in the underside of the door mirrors

I've replaced both bulbs. the interior lights come on for the requisite time but the approach lights illuminate for perhaps 2-3 seconds before fading off.
GAP IID Tool shows no faults and I can't see a setting to turn on/off test or adjust time delay.

I doubt fuse as the light comes on so the circuit isn't broken and it seems the relay works for the interior lights, which work.

Anyone any ideas ?

I think those run through a dedicated relay in the rear.

The manual I have shows a relay for interior lights. But then mentions approach lights have a dedicated relay in the rear fuse box. Don’t know if they are talking about them being the same one or not.

thanks marjon.. I will check.. a dicky relay would make sense then

The outcome is i couldnt be arsed to remove the glove box to get to the relay so its on the back burner its in for paint this week and the LPG seems to have wired up by a complete retard so im looking at having someone rewire it properly or install a new LPG loom and ECU. then the cayenne needs a bit of love the P38 Radius Arm bushes need replacing need to finish stripping down the doors for the 2 door. bathroom floors are going to be tiled week after after mextcwith the main bathroom essentially refitted.. have some family time.. oh and work ! then i might look at the approach lights
