i think mines starting to play up, i got a screwdriver between the timing chest and the pas pulley and in my eyes theres way to much sideplay like the front bush is playing up.
So what im after is someone lift their bonnet and try a screwdriver and see how much sideplay in the pas pulley, please.
Its a bearmach unit 11mths old, they want 250 quid for another then they send off for warranty and maybe possibly i get my money back:mad: island 4x4 150 quid!
Basically i dont mind spending money i just dont want to waste it.

I found the pulley can become loose from the mounting plate, check the 4 bolts holding on the pas pump to the plate. A sure sign is the pulley isn't in line with the belt, other than that i'm dressed for work so not sticking my head under the bonnet ;)

Mine's original, I think, at 157000 miles and absolutely no play in it....

I can see that it could be the mounting bolts to blame.

No all the bolts are nice and tight, had a butchers at mates 90 with disco engine and its got the same amount of play, so suck it and see what goes wrong then fix it!
But just to be sure i will recheck the bolts tomorrow, you never know?
Thanks for the replies/looking much appreciated
