I have removed my fuel tank to check its condition, happy to say its in 99.9% great shape, just one 3 mm surface rust on one spot and some rust stains where the guard was rubbing the tank. I will pressure wash, sand, paint and maybe wax coat it.

There are no leaks at all, but since the fuel sender is 20 years old and a PITA to get to, I am wondering if I should change it since I have the tank out.

I will have to see what fuel sender brands are available here, checking to see if you guys had any issues with the Britpart ones...might be a redundant question LOL

Thanks Mates.

My fuel sender unit has been in mine for twenty seven years and is still fine. I find sometimes when you change parts they are never as good as the original. My motto is "if it a'int broke, don't fix it"
I also find with Britpart the quality is not consistent. You can buy one part and its OK, but then next time you buy the same part its crap. I tend to buy Bearmach parts if I want them to last.

You are right Mike..if its working leave it and yes the original in many cases are better than new aftermarket..will leave it as is. I will do some resistance measurement at the pig tails..I am not sure if the gauge was working well since I stripped the landy the moment I bought it.
