I had a look at the map sensor earlier, all looks fine and connected correctly.

I found 2 odd pipes coming from the transmission though, which are not connected to anything.....does anyone have a clue what they are, or if they should be connected to something??

one common fault to check are the intercooler pipes. take them off and look inside, they tent to delaminate and cause ristrictions. after you got it running right up the boost, lower the break pressures and put bigger nozzles in the injectors, decat it, fit a boost controller and get a nice custom made mandrel bent exhaust on it and a cold air induction kit. after you done them little mods go for a remap, it will hand any v8 there arse on a plate and sound lovely doing it. i sold mine now and bought a 322 to start over on but for the 6 years i owned the p38 i never had any bother with the engine even after all the mods, i did how ever change the oil and filer every 3000 miles and used fully synthetic oil.
