Your local Landy "Specialist" is not too special, plug leads on ANY of the post dizzy Rover v8's are the biggest problem they suffered, esp the Thor ones that had the platinum plugs with a large gap.Poor quality leads on a damp morning and the HT would soon find an easier path to earth than across the plug gap in the combustion chamber.the resulting misfire would soon muck up fuel trims and put emissions outside of an MOT pass.I love this thread even if it is an old one Have just been told by our local Landy specialist that no spark on the back right cylinder of a 2001 (THOR) 4.6 V8 is most likely the ignition pack, as there are hardly ever HT lead problems on a P38.
Thanks guys. The ignition pack looks a total nightmare to get out!
The old NGK BPR6ES plugs and genuine leads were the best way for reliabilty, changed more often than LR suggested.
