Good evening all, I have an SRS issue and I am struggling to find anyone with the diagnostic equipment to read what the fault is. I am hoping that there is someone on here who may be able to help or know of someone who may be able to help that is a reasonable distance from Fareham Hampshire. Unfortunately my Disco is not MOT'ed so I cannot drive it to anyone. I am obviously willing to pay for someone to come out to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You speak of an 'issue' ...

what symptoms have you ?

Lights etc ...

If you are still wanting this sorted send me a Pm to make a booking,as long as you have insurance you will be legal to drive it to me to have the SRS sorted to gain an MOT pass.

Hi Dippypud, the issue is that the SRS light is staying up. The horn still works so I am guessing that the rootary coupler is ok. I am reluctant to go chasing and changing bits without having the fault read so I know where to start.
Thank you for the offer eightinavee and I would be willing to do that but your a bit far away, I appreciate you responding though.

I would start with the rotary coupler, even if your horn is working.
Had the same problem and bought an Ebay special (£15) light went out when coupler changed. No need for a reset.

Don't guess. Test, as the rotary coupler is a multi-circuit item. The SRS circuit may have failed, a tester will open show an open circuit if that is the issue as a rotary coupler is not monitored in anyway.

Does the Disco 1 have the yellow connector under the seat(s), or is that the Disco 2 onwards? If so, that might cause it - it did on mine. Make and break the connector a few times to wipe the pins (might be an idea to disconnect the battery first, as usually suggested when farting about with airbags etc.).
