hi, after a long wait for a local-ish used dog guard to come up, I now find that that fixing kit is obsolete :(
Would anyone have a set in the back of a drawer, or even installed, that they're not needing please?
Fingers crossed... Priya

Ive got the same issue, mine came with the fixing for the bottom but not the bit that goes into the head height handle in the back

Did you find any?

do you have pics of what they look like.. preferably a pic of one fitted. I could possibly make you some

This is the part number of the original fitting kit but it looks like its no longer available

You had to remove a part of the load area grab handle and replace it with a different one with different bolts and also fit the plastic U brackets to the trim at the bottom of the window
The fitting instructions can ve found on the RAVE disc under Accessory Fitting Insturctions STC50232

I could supply pictures of the guard fittings in situ as I had mine installed in 2000 when I bought the vehicle new.

Pics would work.. I can use my own D2 to make sure they fit.. depending what' involved I'm sure I could make something that will work and look good

This is the same as mine, I have the fixings for the bottom, and the guard has the triangle bits on it with the lugs. I just need the inserts that fix to the handle and the lugs fit into

Mine is like the above one except I do not have the grab handle so the fitment is 'on its own'.

I have just had a thought! If you can think of a way of making a copy of this piece by using a silicon mould, I can make a (rough, amateur) flexible, silicon mould and send it to you. I have no idea what could be used to make the 'bit' from. If you think it is worth a try, just let me know and I'll try to do a mould for you.:)

I could be wrong, but think the bit that the guard hooks into is the same and the other piece is to replace the lack of grab handle

Although the kit is discontinued I’ve seen the fitting instructions and that’s how it appears to me?!

As I have the grab handles I would just need the other part. I’ve no idea about making the piece, but one of the lads who works for me is taking a science degree so I could let him have a go

I assume each side is different to mirror fitting

Ok cool, easier that i thought.. I just need the distance from the centre of fixing hole that replaces the one on the handle to the centre of bigger hole in the keyhole that the guard lug fits in, also need the diameter of the big and small holes that make the keyhole.. I will then fashion you a pair, (LH & RH) of course.. will make from polished aluminium more than likely... the cost will be postage in the hope that my good deed will be repaid with someone finally saying "yes I have a nanocom, pop over and I will plug you in" you never know lol..

Check this out... its a trophy I have made for an upcoming Drone racing championship in Birmingham... its a full size race drone made from stainless steel, brass and aluminium..

I could send you mine but as mine seem to be a bit different to the one that fits by the grab handle, it would be best if @Suzukibyker gave his measurements to you.
@derwendolly i don’t have exact measurements as I don’t have the parts, the rearmost diameter will be for the thread (probably 5mm) and the front will be wider than the lug on the guard, both of these I can measure tonight. The bolt hole on yours should be the same as mine so maybe you could measure the centre point distance if you don’t mind?

@Nige4927 you are a gent!! The trophy looks great! Would you need the handle to check it fits or does yours have them? I can post mine if that helps? It looks like it just rests in there so I think there’s a bit of room for movement on the lug hole location anyway.

What do you need the nanocom for and where are you based? I don’t have one but my brothers a mechanic and has a pretty decent Delphi software?!

Sorry, I misread the pictures in your post:oops:! As I am now in bed I will have to wait until tomorrow morning to do the measuring. I will then send them on to Nige4927 together will another 'face-on' photo. The other side is as you suggested, just a mirror image. My guard is over 18 years old now and still doing a cracking job with my two canines!

Right, here it is:-

1. Diameter of 'screw' hole is 14mm but as this has a cap fitted into it, I think the actual hole which is covered is smaller because the fitting instructions say 'fit the 5mm screw/bolt'.

2. The distance between the two holes is 16mm.

3. I make the diameter of the top circle of the keyhole 12mm but I notice that the OP says the end of the lugs are 13mm and as they fit into this hole then my measurement looks to be 1mm out.
4. The width of the lower part of the keyhole seems to be 8mm. It might be best if the OP measures the shaft of his lug to see if his agrees.

Below are three pictures of what I have been trying to measure!

Please bear in mind I am not the best measurer but I have tried to do it accurately!!!!:)
