My battery has died on my P38 after 2 years and 2 months. I was under the impression the warranty was 3 years as its a Bosch but after phoning the place I bought it from they say it sonly 2 years, typical. I didnt get the warranty info when I bought it just a receipt.
Anyway, I want to contact Bosch directly as I belive there is still a case to claim for a new batery as it is not "fit for purpose". The last battery lasted 8 years and this one lasts 2 months out of warranty, and at £115 its not exactly cheap.
I've been on to their webiste but they obviously don't want anyone to contact them as they have no details for a Uk telephone number or an email address.
Just thought I'd see if anyone here had a contact address or number for them. Worth a try before shelling out anouther £100+ for a battery that might last 2 years.

I gather it won't be another Bosch then........
The place I bought it from offered me a replacement Bosch at a reduced rate. To be honest I doubt I'll have the vehicle in a year so it might take the best offer I can get.

But Bosch aren't high on my wish list.

try this number - 01895 838999 - this is for Varta, but is a supplier of Bosch Batteries and will have a contact number.

not bosch batteries , but others stuff they have had collected from my workshop, repaired, ( i dint sent off the warrenty ) but they did it fer nawt then sent it back as good as new, they were good to deal with , ah spose a bettery is somethin that can be buggered up by over chargin etc, so they int too fussed, spose it would be different after 6 months

I'm unsure of how applicable the sale of goods act, consumer law etc is to a car battery, but 2yrs for a £100+ battery = rubbish.

Your contract is with the place you bought it from, if someone tried to fob me off with such an excuse, I would certainly confirm your warranty status with bosch and what the sale of goods act says about this item - then go back to them.

good luck,
jt

I contacted the place I bought it from and they said if they contacted Bosch they would just be told that it's out of warranty.
Just trying to get throught to Varta to see if they have a contact. I'll keep you posted.

Just spoken to Bosch.
They say that its 2 year warranty and the issue is with the place that sold it to me. When I was explaining that the batter was the large white commercial type, the woman said "white, thats an old one". I need to get the battery serial number to find out excatly how old the battery is that I bought, as it could have been lying in the warehouse for years before I bought it.

Bosch direct is 01895878008, or i can contact them for you, i work for a Bosch agent.
You will have a 3 digit code embossed on the casing, that is the date code.
White is old, theyve been black/silver /blue for a while now

Cheers Foss, I've been out and bought a new battery from my local motor spares shop, £75 with 2 year warranty, not sure what the make is but the spec is a bit better than the Bosch one.
