I've got one that doesn't leak but some of the copper (ok about 20%) micro-fins have become powdery. Fine to use but I'm goin to the desert and need full coolin.

You can have it for nowt. Im near Edinburgh on the A1.

Hi Yella

Did not know u can do that got loads to learn boot landys but im trying.

my radiator is unfortuantly bad in the fins department aswell not sure how bad but most are powdery. The leak is from just a small area of the channels from what i can see were sutin has hit the radiator.

Heard u can get radiators recored whats that mean then?

or radweld.

Boner - if you still fancy it I'll be going into town this week to pick up some kit from stratstones (if it's arrived yet - 4 weeks and counting for a fuel tank).

It's serviceable as long as you don't tow up hills in hot weather - I'd maybe try chucking in some radweld in yours first to see if it fixes itself - save taking your front to bits - and just keep an eye on levels and temp gauge.

cheers

HI MUddy

I chucked in some radweld just befor the weekend and was down Glenkerry last night for a drink and a gentle wonder and the radiator was holding ok till i hit long hills, unless i drove very carefully and with little strain on the engine it heasted up to about 1/3 from cold and i would get a fine spray from the leak area and loose tempature, checked the overflow bottle when running but no bubbles etc and its not loosing much at all.
I work in edinburgh most days so ill send you my mobile number too your priavte message thung and i can meet you when ur in town. I hope the radiator is all thats wrong as i want to go to drumclog or whatever its called to get a bit of practise on mud with my new tyres at low pressures and probably get stuck:D. Appricaite adn the help and advice.
