Adding a third would provide some structural redundancy, but 4 would make sure , regular checking everything secure during trip is worth the peace of mind too.

Roof bars have just arrived so will get them fitted at weekend and offer the roof tent up to see how it is then when i get the other set of bars we can lift the roof tent up and fit the bars :)

Careful offering up the tent. If it really weighs 88Kg lifting it securely to more than roof height will not be easy. If you know someone with a forklift, it might be time to buy them a beer.

Yeah i've plenty of muscles not just me to lift it on and if not i can get it done at work, i don't think it will be that heavy as there are loads of other companies around the world that make the same tent and they seem to come in at 55kg but the Direct 4x4 one is saying its 85kg but will see :)

On early shift today so home now, anyway gets an email from Direct 4x4 saying that they use two curriers UPS and Arrow XL so if its coming with UPS then there is nothing to worry about as it will be delivered on the delivery day but if its coming with Arrow XL they will collect it from us and email you for a delivery date, course mines with Arrow XL so had to book it to be delivered on Monday

Fitted my roof bars last night but have another pair on order and should be here before the roof tent gets here on Monday :)

Just couldn't fit the 4th bar as the contour of the roof at the front just wouldn't allow it as the fixing brackets need to grip the sides of the roof so 3 bars will have to do but its really solid with 3 bars on then we fitted the roof tent and this is it closed
