Why not fit a newer transit engine?? (2000) they pull very well and quite good on fuel? But wouldn't fit the old one as they are painfully slow.

Yeah true they seem to be easier to tune aswell just wind the turbo up and you have a fairley quick landy. Buy know a few miles of life off the engine but who really cares?

fitted one a few years back with my mate to his ninety
not hard few bits to sort out throttle cable exhaust bits to make
no probs if you are ok welding a few bits up
wiring is a doddle
But Honestly don't do it the transit is a great engine but totally carp in land rover don't know if its a gearing thing or if the landys a bit heavy for the n/a engine slow is an under statement my mate had his in for a while then swapped for a mazda 3 ltr diesel

I picked up a veyron engine last week but bit expensive on fuel so we could come to some sort of a deal lol

I heard someone tried one of those engines in a Disco but found it didn't run at all well on pump diesel. Says he might try BioDiesel next.
