Disco is only ever used on road, it does a bit of towing and the 4 days of snow we have each winter. I currently have Avon Ranger sports fitted on the rears are like new but the fronts are worn out wrangler HP's. I was going to put another pair of Avons on the front to match them up, but nticed the ACCELERA IOTA's coming in at £144 delivered. my mate has some ACCELERA's on his road car and said he has noticed no difference compared to the conti's it had on from new, so just wondered if anyone had tried them?? I know they wont be cpmaparable to the Generals, but a comparison to the AVons would be nice to know

Accelera's are a budget tyre and through experience can be a bit of a ditch finder on car's, however, i have a couple on my disco (came with the wheels when i bought them) and yes i did actually buy them for my Disco and they seem ok, possible because i don't drive the disco as fast as a car and the disco is a lot heavier.

I haven't tried this particular tyre but I have in the past bought other cheap tyres and they don't last, in my experience.

I bought a set of Continentals for my previous Disco TDi 300 and they quite literally nearly put me into a ravine. Plus they wore out within 10,000mls and I'm a slow driver!!!

Disco's are heavy vehicles and need good quality tyres for safety and durability - don't buy cheap. Buy good once and they will last you three times longer that cheap, for perhaps only 50% more.

We sell a lot of accelera at work, both car Tyres and iotas for 4x4

Fitted a pair of 20" to a Q7 the other day. That drove superbly with them on.

So to answer, they are fine as far as quality control goes, obviously dearer Tyres will perform better. I would fit iotas to a disco without worry, it's not exactly high performance...

Hi,

I just picked up my 2008 Range Rover Vogue at the weekend. The Land Rover dealer had fitted a new set of corners on the car and Iota's was used. I questioned him about them and he stated that Iota was an approved brand by Land Rover.

I noticed when doing the deal that one tyre needed replacing, but I thought the other three Pirelli's looked ok.

General tyres from Blackcircles, just put a front set on mine for £195.00 fitted,
was going to put Michelin latitude on, but saved around £35.00 per tyre,
like they all say, disco's are not performance cars, cheap tyre at my experience are not long lasting or as durable to our climate and conditions
