the perentie range (Oz army) were wide body and some were 6x6 as well just google it for pics etc HTSH

i know that - thats why i posted it. just wondered if anyone in the UK did.

if yu look at ehe bottom pic - that is a 6x6 Perentie

there is only one pic a hummer so sorry about that , AFAIK no one in Uk has done same , so thats not a lot of help is it ? Wouldnt take a lot to widen the chassis , you could prob use mog axles and get portals as a bonus Then just use two of the central panels and cut em both off centre to get the extra width , whats the advantage of widebody ?

One of my mates is planning on a 1 ton style body on his 90 wide wings and tray back but hasn't started yet . .

Someone did a wide bodied camper defender with 6x6 and a cummins, did a superb job as well

Here it is, I believe he even had the salisbury axles widened

Saw one many years ago (mid 90's I think) and no, it wasn't a Perentie.
Done by a garage just as a project, there was no need for wheel arch extensions as the body finished flush to the tyre edges (like on a Series vehicle) and the bonnet, windscreen frame, roof-panel (it was a truck-cab), rear-tub etc had been widened quite expertly as there was no seam to be seen (windscreen was a 1-off toughened affair). This differed to a couple of Lightweights fitted with RR axles that used to run around at the same time which just had strips of chequerplate covering the gaps.
