P38 may be cheaper to fix
But you can't compare both of these models together

The l322 is in a different league all together

I wouldn't say different league - I'd say different. The P38 feels like a comfy Land Rover. The L322 feels more like a car to drive. I prefer the P38 (as long as the steering isn't shot!) as it has character, the L322 would win hands down round a racetrack but the rock hard seats and jiggly ride can get annoying on longer runs IMHO. Of course - even the newest P38s are now very old cars - you can't buy one and expect it to be reliable - it might be if you're lucky but it's just luck none-the-less.

Odd that for a £70K car, wifes 1984 Renault 11 is reliable has had the best part of buggerall spent on it over the years and has moon rocket kilometres on it:rolleyes: Even the headlining is still in place:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

But then when I was buying and selling I saw plenty of knackered Renault 9s and 11s when they were only a few years old - the "executive" Renault 25 and Safrane were awful for reliability - you couldn't give 'em away. I'm surprised the P38 works at all electronically - considering the electronics are very much late 70s early 80s with year 2000 ambitions when it comes to capability!
