Just checked my notes on spreadsheet. They qouted 3 weeks lead time but I actually got it within a week. All in inc Vat and £200 delivery to central Scotland it was £2220

I'm not trade and was able to buy direct but not sure if things havee changed since it's become KD be worth calling them at least you know your getting a genuine Land Rover Chassis thats only been modified to suit your engine type.

Thanks for the info, I'll start ringing around on Monday to get best price etc. Local L/R specialist said they could get one from Ireland, but didn't who it was. If there is another decent make out there I will post the name on here.
Thanks to everyone for their input, much appreciated.

Are shielder not made in Ireland?

Cheers

Stretch it to a 130! Bear Bones Racing have a new GKN 130 Puma chassis, if I had the cash I'd be starting a project with that.

Thanks for the info Mick x11, Happy with it being a 90 as it is just for me and the dogs buzzing around the Angus / Perthshire Glens, just needs chassis, bottom of 1 door sorting and engine bay and cab interior tidying up although runs fine (245000 miles)

Mine has been waiting since the start of August. It’s something I wish I ordered back in April. It would have saved a huge delay now.

last one i got was from britpart, its made by one of the two known names, same price and on the shelf whereas when i rang the chassis builders there was a long lead time
Yes mine was a richards but had a britpart label on it. Got it within a week delivered to a local landrover garage (north east scotland).

Doing the same , chasing up suppliers in the morning. Is the Richards chassis a lot more expensive through Britpart ?

No I have not used them, I just noticed they were a lot cheaper than Rimmerbros and early free delivery.

Sounds to good to be true, Their reviews on are exactly the same as the ones on the Sheilder website even down to the peoples names who have left reviews , only the company name has been changed (one of them has been copying the other) Harvey there suggested he would rather be paid by bank transfer? sounds iffy to me.

does the whole chassis need replacing or just the back half? if just the back have you thought about a half-chassis swap? I used RCP or Replacement Chassis Parts and they were excellent!

you'll need a good welder too!

Thanks for the info mojo247, but the chassis isn't worth saving. It's not the cost , it's just the waiting time. John Craddock have them for £2368 all in but want £500 to deliver. Bearmach expecting delivery on 19th Oct £2189 all in. Britpart can do them no problem but have to wait on dealer with price as I'm not trade. Rimmerbros site said they will price match, But wouldn't price match Terraintech price when I sent them link. Thanks to everyone for the advice much appreciated.

Quick wee update, DesignaChassis are not doing anymore defender chassis until March - April 2019, due to work load on other chassis types.
