Hi I have just bought another V8 discovery with a prins lpg system the seller has informed me that it needs the blue solenoid valve replacing as when you press the button to switch over to gas the car just cuts out

Buy your self a new blue solenoid then and swop it out then. Check it's actually got gas in the tank it will have a pressure gauge on the tank.
It's a 5 minute job to swop it out

check the solenoid on the tank is opening too. there should be a rough tank gauge too, check the valve is open

I'm interested in this topic as I too have a D1 V8 with LPG. not sure which system though and I am in the wrong country to be able to check!
