Good afternoon all,

New to LandyZone but loving the community spirit here, I wish there was something like this in the UAE.

I've recently purchased a 2006 Freelander 1, TD4 HSE with 90K. Don't laugh, but I haven't seen the car yet as I'm still abroad. That said, the first I want to do when I get home is take it for a service as I'm not sure what common problems may creep up around this milage.

Any recommendations on solid Landy mechanics/garages in Northampton or close to would be greatly appreciated.

I'm planning to buy a service kit and get all the filters changed. The recently had a new fuel filter and that's all I know so far.

Many thanks in advance!

Depending on how close you need it to be, might be a bit far.

EH Douglas in Wardington have a good rep.

Cheers

Thanks for the speedy reply, will keep them noted. Not super close but definitely not the other of the country.

Why not just service it yourself? A TD4 isn't really difficult to do a basic service on. Generally ower mechanics are more careful and thorough than your average spanner monkey. ;)

You're probably right about rhat, though I currently drive a Ranger rover supercharged and have no prior experiente with LRF 1, so knowing whether things such as VCU (I think it's called) or other technical problems that may need will be out of my reach. It's always good to have someone else to blame if it all goes pare shape on my upcoming euro tour - London to Serbia via Vatican city :)
