Buying our Freelander we knew the sunroof was cack plus it leaks a little so I was wondering how expensive the repair is? Or should I just seal the leak up and sack it off?

Stefan.

Even Disco's are well known for this... check the run off pipes from the drip tray surrounding the seal

I've disabled mine by removing the fuse. At first, I just didn't use it because I know it would partly open and then jam. The problem was that other people touched the sunroof button thinking that it was for the window. That's not a huge problem unless you're on a motorway when it's raining.

I don't know why Land Rover can't get simple engineering right. If you think that's bad, then wait until you need to open the tailgate when it's very cold, snowy or icy in the winter!

Ah ah ah. Exactly the same. Gave the car to valet once and the chap thought it was the electric window button. Took 30 minute to unjam the roof. I took the fuse out that day.
Lr quoted £1000 to repair the roof.

I knew mine was knackered when I bought it, guy I got it from told what was wrong and the cost of the parts and that he was always having to sort them out, I opened it once to have a look, closed it and removed the fuse after seeing what a **** mechanism it was.

Me too, removed the fuse and put a layer of silicon, on the outside, around the glass plate, now it's watertight....:D:D:D:D

I thought I had a leaking sunroof - water was coming through the front interior light console.

Turns out it it was the arial - the underside nut had become slack ( probably movement from brushing snow off the roof a few months ago) and was letting water in just behind the sunroof motor.

Worth a check.
