how big is the garage?

I did my garage and its about 18ftx18ft and a 5L tin was enough...

Got two to do one is 20ft x 30ft the other is a big double garage.Last tin of 5 ltrs covered about 17ftx12ft

I'm in the process of doing mine with Ronseal this week, garage size is 20ft x 24ft.

Prepped the bare concrete with Ronseal concrete sealer, which used the entire 5 litre tin. (£35 from B&Q)

I've currently managed two coats of paint, and still have a little left in the first 5 litre paint tin. (£40/tin from B&Q)

I've been doing one coat per day, and looks good now after one of sealant and two of paint, but I reckon I'm going to aim for at least another two coats of paint before I even think about parking my cars on it.

As per previous posters, I always stick with brands I trust when it comes to paint, and there seemed to be a lot of horror stories on message boards about various other brands (which I suspect are largely down to people not following instructions / preparing surfaces, etc), but couldn't find any reviews of the Ronseal. I took this to be a good sign - after all, who bothers to post a review when nothing went wrong?

Bit over my budget that I think.

I've just ordered 20 ltrs of oil based heavy duty garage floor paint for 20 quid so I'll let you know if it's any good.

I've painted the flags in my old garage with any old paint that was lying around and it only came off if I spilt brake fluid on it. I think the secret is in preparing the surface first and getting it squeaky clean before applying the paint.
Time will tell but I'm happy with 20 ltrs for 20 quid and I'm not paying for a brand name.:)
