Hi guys
I have posted this in the Defender forum aswell but just want to know if a series gear lever thread is the same as the LT77 gear lever thread and if so is the Series Hi / Lo lever the same thread as the Defender Hi /Lo lever thread, what do you think :)
 
At the risk of wanting to avoid being a knob expert the S3 main gear lever knob is secured by a shim not screwed on. The hi/low and four wheel drive knobs screw in but no idea if they are the same as the defender. It'd take a knob expert to know that. Step forward knob expert:confused:?
 
My knob fell off (ooer missus) and the shim got lost. Any ideas how I can get the bugger to stay on? I did wrap a bit of paper around the end of the gear stick to act as a shim bu it keeps working loose.

I am a great fan of the "Last of the summer wine" sitcom. It's one of the reasons I bought a landy, mine is even called Compo. In one of the episodes, the knob of Wesley's 109 kept coming off like mine does so for me it's like living the dream. Having said that, I think I will stick it back on with no more nails, I've still got some left from when I glued the starter in
