Headlight bulb gone. See pics. Is there a brighter alternative that's safe to use. Passes MOT and does not burn anything out?

You're stuck with either using slightly brighter but legal Osram Night Breakers, or Philips extreme vision. Both claim 150% increase in brightness, but in reality they are only slightly brighter, and a bit whiter. I've use both in my cars for years, as every little bit of extra light is a good thing.

Several people have fitted HID conversions, which are a lot brighter, but not actually legal, so can fail the MOT.

Oh and just to make things interesting, the bulbs (they're actually lamps, bulbs go in the garden;) ) are known under 2 different names. They're 9005 or HB3, both are identical, just different manufacturers choose to call them different names.

Thanks for info

Ordered the Osram's. Seems there are two versions. Osram site says original version is longer lasting so ordered them.
