Remember seeing rubber flooring material last time I was in Costco.
Think it was advertised as anti shock or some such thing it was designed for garage flooring
 
some cars have thick foam rubber on the boot floor, might be worth a trip to scrap yard an see what u can find
 
I put some foam backed lino in mine-works a treat, can nearly hear the wife un kids, until I turn the radio up a notch :D
 
thanks ppl,will have to look around! I really thought i would be able to buy a roll of rubber made for this purpose
 
Go to yer local Agricultural / Equine merchants.
I bought 2 8ft by 4ft sheets of rubber flooring (intended for horse boxes / stables) for £16 each, back along. Tis good stuff.
 
Go to local farm supplier and ask for Dairy Cubicle Matting,,comes in loads of different sizes/thicknesses it's also good for pick-up backs..
