checked that mate , all was fine , battery was tested ok but as it was a crap battery that was on it I stuck a new premium one on just to make sure
Getting a new battery does not tell you what voltage you have from the alternator.

mechanic tested the alternation when he tested the old battery mate .
maybe a stupid question but iv noticed it running "lumpy" when its first started for a while which it never used to do , but the past couple of week ive noticed it , after its been running for a while its fine , just after a cold start , any change this would be conneted ?

Well after a morning out in the car the same fault has returned . Looks like a phone call to the lr specialist near me

So after you unplugged the tow socket did you clear codes?

And now you are saying that all the same ones came up?

Hi

Check fuse 41 on ur passenger side fuse box

Ensure all ur brake lights are working and u haven’t fitted any cheap bulbs lately

With ur scanner check the live data for ur wheel speed sensors

Double check ur steering wheel angle sensor is correct

Hope that helps and a few things to check

I already mentioned about the brake bulbs and he’s recently fitted cheap bulbs but has not confirmed whether they have been changed for genuine ones.

That's odd. Every time I type Range Rover Sport it auto-correct's to "Money-Pit". ;)
Diagnostics + step-by-step. It's the only way. A stealer will welcome you with open arms (he's got an all-inclusive holiday to book for him and his family this year and a daughter's wedding coming up on the horizon).

Hi everyone sorry for the late reply I totally forgot about my post I was in that much stress with it

The problem was fixed .
It turned out to be the instrument cluster in the dash .
Common fault. Had to have it sent off for a rebuild. Cost £190 all in . Was without car for a week until I got the clocks back but had no problems like that since !

Congrats on the result and the price, and thank you for coming back to let us all know what it was. It may help some other poor devil in the same boat as you were. :D

As a proverbial "poor devil" also with a complex list of possibilities from a diagnostic tool it is encouraging that a solution was found. So a big thank you for posting.
My own fault appeared to be fixed with the new battery and starter motor but came back with a vengeance - hoping that Boris lets garages open again next week and I pick the right place to take it. Any feedback on these 3 appreciated - A1 British 4x4 Specialists Bury; Independent Land Rover Service Centre Preston; John's Advanced Auto Electrics Liverpool.
Thanks
