Thanks fur trapper Im trying to find somewhere that will maybe give me a week or so's work experience out of my area, I'd like to specialise in land rovers mobile parts supplying mainly service items, diagnostics etc there's no where near me that offer reasonable priced landy bits only main dealer or the likes of whoopee, euro parts etc.

Just ignore Sean he is the site bully at the moment, Follow your heart and talk to someone that has a similar business with a different brand of cars. Keep good records of parts source and where they went. Do not want to get nicked for hot parts.

get back under your bridge

You might want to work with a car stripper/breaker yard and get your feet wet, But good used parts think there would be Market for diy folks. but you would have to have lots of inventory and good storage so you get ripped of by thiefs

Just check your market area and look carefully and use your head not your heart when making decisions and always ask yourself what if. Be careful and cautious. Best rule if it is to good to be true ........... it usually is

I'm good with people, I've always been good with money and work hard I have been working on cars since I was young and have a very keen interest in land rovers in particular I have hands on knowledge working with most land rovers up to the td5's and I think I could offer local businesses and people parts at a good price with a friendly knowledgable service.

To be brutally honest In the current economic climate I thinbk you'll struggle to succeed in a one marque business. I'd be looking for anywork at all regardless of make.. perhaps stress the landy Angle. But don't concentrate exclusiverly on that one brand. That's my advice. and talk to the local motor factors about opening an account with them.

factors are a bit pricey compared to landy wholesalers

Yep but if he's just starting up as a mobile mechanic he isn't going to be having enough turnover to get an account with an wholesaler.

Factors will probably be his best bet until the business is up and running.
