Hi guys,

I've just bought a 94 Disco V8 which "looked" to be in good condition. I did look over it but am no mechanic so...

I've just had a full inspection done only to find:

Major rust inside the PS wing from water running in from the drain under the windscreen (ca be repaired but dash needs removing! Oh well at least they ca fit a new heater core at the same time.

My main issue is do you think a relatively inexperienced tinkerer could do the following:
1. rear 3/4 window seals - how should I take them out and then get them back in?
2. clean out the radiator - where are the drain plugs located? (am dl'ing rave cd so will this help with locations?)
3. bottom radiator hose replacement (same time as clean out?)
4. rubber uni replacement
5. top up transfer oil - again location of plug
6. replace ear shock bushes

Any advice greatly appreciated (or a pointer to vids to help me)

Cheers guys and gals
Phil

ps I have a small leak just infront of the drivers door, what do you reckon? sunroof? door seal?

Buy yourself a Haynes manual, which should be £15 tops from eBay or Halfords, and most of those jobs are pretty easy to do yourself with basic tools, just so long as you take your time and don't try to bodge or cut corners.

As seen as it's a V8, I'd strongly reccomend changing all of your coolent hoses for new ones, and continue to keep a close eye on your coolent levels.

If not, big bills will come your way sooner or later.

If you have any trouble, there will always be plenty of help and advice available on here.

Cheers guys,

I dl'd Rave yesterday but am on amac and all I get is a load of files that don't want to open. Guessing I need to use windoze?

Got the Haynes today, brake pads done, transfer oil tomorrow and investigating the damage to the vac.

Ordered rear bushes today so should be able to do those next week as they need to leave the UK and arrive in Aus :)

One last question, Apparently my sway bar is loose. Does this matter and if so is it bushes or just a spanner that are required?

Cheers

Get underneath and have a butchers. If the rubbers are split, ARB ends are cheap as chips to replace, pretty much same as tie rod ends. If the bars just loose then all you need is a big spanner :)
