I was interested in an anvil until I found out worn out ones, beyond refurbishment, were selling for over £100! Seems they are a fashionable garden ornament so sell for silly money.

Might be something to consider, but my local scrap metal recycling plant has many of them stacked up near to the weigh bridge, I guess these get pulled out of scrap piles and reused. Perhaps you could have a look at a local metal recycling place near you? Maybe they do the same?
