Hi,

Have a freelander 1 td4 from 2004.
The anti roll bar is starting to rust.

What are the best solutions, since LR can’t provide them anymore.

Repaint it, and if the collars have fallen off, clamp on replacements are available.

Thanks nodge !

I have a sealed bottle of rust oil, should use it then put some black paint on It ?

A long time ago I changed the rubbers, the bolts ( looking terrible rusted ), but I didn’t changed the clamps .

Hi, taking the opportunity to ask: does the antiroll bar have some collars/ limiters for axial play when new? Mine doesn't and from time to time is going sideways with the shock impact noise included. What would be the agreed sollution for that?
I wouldn't weld on it.
Thank you.

recently done my own very simple job and worth the effort

Yes, they are plastic and break off due to rust expansion underneath. There are much stronger bolt together split metal collars available in various sizes which can be used as replacements. I fitted some to mine, although can't remember what ebay search I used now.
I'll see what I can find.

Well, so factory made them from plastic... Weird. I'll search a variant localy.
Thank you!
They're cheap enough, and much better than the factory one. Just measure the bar diameter, and order a suitable size to clamp onto it.
